Vervet Monkey (Chlorocebus pygerythrus)

These fascinating primates, native to Africa, are known for their striking black faces and grey body hair. Vervet monkeys (Chlorocebus pygerythrus) live in social groups called troops, which can have up to 70 members! They communicate with a variety of calls and are incredibly agile, often seen leaping through the trees. Did you know they can run up to 30 mph? This individual was spotted snacking on the anti-monkey trash collection in Marloth's Park.
